three quarter view fashion illustration

As we wrote before, three quarter view is one of the most important and resourceful views for fashion drawing. In this posting we want to introduce a three quarter croquis in mild movement .

Showing movement in three quarter view could be tricky and this is pre-made croquis could be very helpful. In the book of fashion templates by Irina V. Ivanova presented both , three quarter view static pose (still position with no movement) and three quarter pose in movement ( very mild , natural, calm movement not an extreme, dynamic movement).

Three quarter view in movement fashion template is a fusion of multiple poses ( all three quarter view) with mild moment of arms and legs. All these illustration above were created by Irina V. Ivanova with one single template. Because this template allows to choose variety of different leg and arm positions, it is easy to create various poses from the same template. Multiple positions fused into the croquis allow to make decision on the spot about which pose to depict. All process is very inventive and allow to find instantaneously the best drawing solution for a fashion project.

After the desirable pose for the figure is selected, start the tracing process. To begin, cover the selected template with paper. Paper stock for tracing should be thin enough to see through. If selected paper has to be of more heavier stock then you can use a light box.

Add details for your garment, render your trace using different art media and styles.
All these illustrations above were created with figure drawing templates. As a result they all have same proportions but they all look different stylistically because they are differently rendered and carry different set of details.
